The Van Craynest legacy began in 1920 when Roger J. Van Craynest went to work for Shreve & Co., in San Francisco. While he worked for Shreve & Co., he honed his skills to become a master die cutter, designer and engraver. In 1926 Roger ventured out on his own opening his own company, Van Craynest. His jewelry design is inspired by a blended interpretation of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Each piece is die struck and hand assembled, engraved, set and finished using techniques that date back over a century . Each Van Craynest jewelry is made to order and takes up to 21 days to craft. The ring can be made in yellow gold, rose gold, platinum or a combination. The yellow and rose gold can be antiqued, creating a beautiful patina. Although, the Van Craynest family is no longer running the business, the dies that have been used since 1926 are stored safely in the vault and are still used today.
