century old, impossibly elegant, and still holding everything together beautifully.
This exceptional Art Deco platinum straight-line bracelet features an alternating procession of natural European-cut diamonds and richly saturated natural blue sapphires.
Twenty European-cut diamonds, weighing approximately 2.45 carats in total, are arranged in groups of four and delicately bead-set in platinum. Between them, twenty distinctive scissor-cut natural blue sapphires, weighing approximately 5.25 carats in total, are precisely channel-set for a dramatic flash of deep Deco blue.
Every gemstone section is individually hinged, allowing the bracelet to move fluidly and comfortably around the wrist. Fine milgrain detailing decorates the platinum edges, while the hidden under-galleries reveal an especially charming secret: each one has been bright-cut engraved with a sunrise motif.
The bracelet fastens securely with a concealed plunger clasp and an engraved safety clip.
More than 100 years after it was created, this bracelet remains in exceptional condition. Its articulated links are remarkably tight, the construction feels secure, and the workmanship is as crisp and impressive as ever. We have not seen an Art Deco sapphire and diamond bracelet preserved in this fine a condition for a very long time.
She may be over a century old, but she still knows exactly how to work a room.
